Cafe Blasta

A new name and identity for a Café in a very competitive market

A new wave of Cafés entered Ireland over the past 10 years offering unique produce and service in busy urban environments. The people from Café Blasta who concentrate on providing local Irish produce and recipes, asked us and Robbie Foley from the branding & naming agency Wallop, to come up with an innovative and uniquely Irish solution.

Once the name Blasta Irish for tasty was agreed, Irenses concentrated on a solution that best communicated the Café Blasta experience. Our strategy focused primarily on the fresh and unique food available in the café. We saw the experience as a fresh blast of taste to give the name a dual meaning for non Irish speakers while also a place to relax and have a chat or a meeting. The logo mark represents this blast of taste with random circles and speech bubbles exploding from the leaf shapes at the bottom left of the mark. The font is strong and earthy to give the brand an overall balance. Café Blasta were delighted with the results and have ambitions to open more Cafés in the Munster region
